“I went to New Zealand to participate in a cultural exchange programme with the AFS Scholarship,” she says. “The host family I stayed with for a year definitely regarded themselves as true ‘Kiwis’, and I loved every minute with them – I’m still in touch with them today.”
That experience ignited her love for travel, and for every opportunity to get to explore new places, and in doing so meet new people. After college, Edith spent another year working in international tourism in the US, sharpening those valuable service skills.
